COVID-19 Update

At Speedy Eye Care, we are ensuring that physical distancing and appropriate disinfection protocols are maintained as per guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health. All visitors are requested to wear a face-covering (medical mask or homemade mask) and to sanitize their hands upon arrival.

Please inform us at 416-901-8671 if you or any members of your household:

  • are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, digestive issues, etc.)
  • have been out of the country in the last 14 days.
  • have been in contact with someone is COVID-19 positive or someone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
  • have been advised by public health to quarantine or isolate.

In any of these cases, we will reschedule your appointment.

In wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking a lot of precautions to keep you safe.

Staff practices

  • Our staff wash hands before and after each patient interaction
  • We confirm with patients before examinations if they or anyone at their household have had any recent travel history, fever, respiratory symptoms, flu-like symptoms, or any contact with COVID+ patient

General office cleaning

  • High contact surfaces are wiped down between uses (e.g., doorknobs, reception desk, chairs, etc.)
  • All surfaces are wiped down at the start and end of each day
  • Waiting room amenities have been removed (e.g., magazines, water cooler, coffee dispenser, etc.)

Patient practices

  • We ask only patients to come in for their appointments unless the patient is a minor or elderly, in which case one guardian or care provider may accompany them
  • Patients are encouraged to fill the new patient forms online. If they wish to fill it on paper, we disinfect pens and clipboard between each use
  • Hand sanitizer is available at the reception area
  • If patients don’t have any face covering, masks are provided at the reception desk at a nominal cost

Equipment

  • We have installed cough/sneeze guards in the reception area
  • All equipment is disinfected between each use
  • All medications or syringes are single-use and are discarded after use
  • Doctors offer contact lens patients extra instruction on cleaning and best practices

Optical

  • Frames in the optical are disinfected between each patient try-on
  • All solution bottles are cleaned and wiped down between each use (if not single-use)
  • Contact lenses are cleaned in a solution that kills all viruses, fungus, and bacteria
  • All contact lens cases provided by our office are brand new
