Dry Eye Management

Dry eye disease is a common condition that occurs when your tears are not able to provide adequate lubrication for your eyes. This lack of tears altogether, or lack of high-quality tears can lead to inflammation and damage of the eye’s surface.

Dry eyes feel uncomfortable. If you have dry eyes, your eyes may sting or burn. Signs and symptoms, which usually affect both eyes, may include stinging or burning sensation, stringy mucus in or around the eyes, hypersensitivity to light, redness, overproduction of tears, etc.

Dry eye management involves finding the cause for dry eye, specialized tests to know the extent of dry eye, preventive measures, and various modalities of dry eye treatment such as eye drops, punctual plugs, laser therapy as well as other specialized treatments such as Lipiflow.
